Allie Cermak
President
I am a third year biochemistry major originally from Round Rock, TX. I am involved with UT’s FRI program doing biochemistry research through the stream Gene Networks and am currently planning on going to medical school.
Fun fact: I am a songwriter and also play piano and guitar!
Ryan McKee
Vice President
I’m a third year Cellular and Molecular Biology Major from Palo Alto, CA. In addition to ASBMB I serve as the secretary/treasurer in a fraternity. I’m interested in oncology and genetics research and after I graduate I plan on pursuing a PhD. I recently completed an internship at a diagnostics company working on a qPCR assay for Acute Myeloid Leukemia so if you have questions about that don’t hesitate to ask!

I am a second-year Biology Major in the Dean’s Scholars Program; my hometown is Houston, Texas. Currently, I am involved in research into proteasomal degradation within the Matouschek Lab and am completing my second semester of FRI. I am excited for the upcoming year and hope to expand engagement opportunities for UT ASBMB.
Fun Fact: I have been a part of a piano ensemble wherein 3 people perform simultaneously on the same piano. I also enjoy writing, playing tennis and basketball, and running.

Hello everyone! I am a fourth year biochemistry major from Lubbock, TX. Currently, I am involved with a funded project to enhance the production of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein in Arabidopsis thaliana for a plant-based vaccine but I am also working on many other projects. Fun fact: Bioinformatics is one of my greatest passions and I greatly enjoy teaching it.

I am a third year biochemistry major from Grapevine, TX. I am currently involved in the metalloenzymes subgroup in the Que Lab, where we develop probes for metalloenzymes in cells. In the future, I would like to attend graduate school to pursue a future career in research.

Howdy! I am a third year Biochemistry Major from Houston, Tx. I am planning on attending medical school after graduation in hopes of becoming a physician. Over the past two summers I have worked as a medical assistant at Cy Fair Surgery Center when I fell in love with medicine. I am fascinated by all things science and love learning.
Fun Fact: I was a dancer for over 12 years.
